Musicals

Revived in 2013, Play Troupe's musicals feature adults and always come with an unexpected twist, whether in the choice of show or casting.

About Play Troupe Musicals

Historically, while the Play Troupe Children's Show (founded 1947) and Teen Summer Theater (founded 1972) provided opportunities for children and teens, Play Troupe produced no musicals for adult performers.

That changed in 1984, when Teen Summer Theater alumni Frank Dietz, Nick Scandalios and Robert Raduazzo created a new Play Troupe program, which they called the Harbor Theater Company, to specialize in unique musicals.

Today, the tradition of an annual musical for adult performers has been revived and produces under the Port Washington Play Troupe banner. We are proud and grateful to enjoy the ongoing support of the Peter & Jeri Dejana Family Foundation.

ILLUSTRIOUS ALUMNI ALERT!

Harbor Theater Company founder Frank Dietz went on to become a Disney animation artist and co-owner of Benevolent Monster Productions, and Nick Scandalios is now a Broadway producing executive for the Nederlander Organization.
